It could relate to cheating, trouble with the law, wild partying, or various other past indiscretions. Various things could account for an actor being labelled as a bad boy. It’s also why so many people love them, why they get so many fans – people love a bad boy. 10. Salman Khan
Let’s start off with some Bollywood. If you were playing a game of top trumps, Salman Khan would win you pretty much every round. He’s arguably the biggest actor in the world right now, is a superstar plain and simple. They guy comes from a filmy family. Pretty much every member of his family is involved in the movie industry in some capacity. He’s therefore enjoyed pretty much his entire life in the limelight, has lead a privileged lifestyle. Some may say that’s made him bratty, very stuck up and arrogant. He’s also had a lot of trouble with the law over the years, and very nearly had a stint in prison. But because of what he does on screen, people can turn a blind eye to all of these indiscretions.
9. Sanjay Dutt
Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt has been plagued by controversy for most of his life. He was convicted for being involved in the 1993 terrorist attacks in Mumbai. The trial lasted for many years, and he served quite a bit of time in jail. He continuously pleaded his innocence. In the end, he was deemed to be not guilty in relation to terrorism offences. But he did have to do more time due to possession of an illegal firearm. He’s now out, has done his time, and has put everything behind him.
8. Christian Bale
Christian Bale has had some dark roles during his time in Hollywood. He’s also known to have a pretty hot temper. That alone is enough for Christian to be deemed as being a bad boy. He may not feature on everyone’s list of bad boys, but due to some of his recent roles and antics away from the cameras, he’s got to be up there.
7. Robert Downey, Jr.
Robert Downey, Jr. is a guy who’s had a tumultuous past. He’s a reformed bad boy, in certain ways that is. He’s still a pretty rowdy individual, has a temper, but is nowhere near as bad as he used to be. He’s had numerous run-ins with the law, and has battled drug addictions too. Robert is what many people would call a reformed bad boy. He’s still maintained that image, but has simmered down in regards to his actions.

The guy just looks bad, not exactly bad to the bone or anything like that, but still bad. That facial hair, the fact he’s covered in tattoos, not to mention some of his lyrics, makes the Maroon 5 frontman seem like a bad boy. Also, I can’t forget the fact he’s slowly working his way through many of the Victoria’s Secret girls.

Starting out relatively young in the acting profession can really affect a person, mess with their head. That’s what happened to Shia LaBeouf. He had a highly publicised meltdown, which caused many people to worry about his wellbeing. But his rap sheet extends beyond that time in his life. He basically does what he wants, and it’s an attitude that’s landed him in plenty of hot water.

Even today, Johnny Depp hasn’t exactly mended his ways, he’s not exactly a straight-laced cat who never gets into trouble. But he’s simmered down a lot, has tamed his wild ways from his earlier days as a celeb. His early days in the limelight can only be described as being wild. He was a legendary partier, and took plenty of drink and drugs too. But he cleaned up his act when he became a dad.

Sean Penn’s had a tumultuous relationship with the press. A lot of this was down to his relationship with Madonna. He supposedly kept her bound and gagged, trussed up like a Christmas turkey on one crazy night. He’s also supposedly done a number of other things, making him one of Hollywood’s resident bad boys.
